In this latest Tech Talk blog, we are discussing all things in relation to ChatGPT.
For those of you who don't know, we'll let you know what it is and why there is so much being said about it at the current time.
We will also discuss why we think that lawyers should take note and be interested, as well as sharing some potential use cases.
Let me introduce you to ChatGPT.
CONCLUSION
ChatGPT is just another tool, a tool that if used properly could have massive impacts on increasing a lawyer's output. Yes, it isn't perfect or accurate, but it is not there to compete with you, it is there to help you, you can work alongside a tool like this as a supervisor and be on the lookout for mistakes. Tech doesn't have to do everything to be valuable, but it can do enough to make you more productive if used in the right way. Have a play around with it and you will soon start to spot use cases within your day-to-day work that you will want to try!
The real inroads within legal will come as these models become more available and we can either work with suppliers to train on specific datasets or ideally begin to train them on our own content. As these tools mature, they will allow for more tailored training, build in verification, and indicate source material which will increase faith in them. They will never be a replacement for the experience and nuance of an expert in a specific area.
To finish, my favourite use of ChatGPT. It would be great to hear if others have played around with this tool and have any thoughts!
