Philip Chalmers, a Partner in our finance team, brings a wealth of expertise in both conventional and Islamic corporate finance. His areas of specialisation include real estate finance, hotel finance, shipping finance, and project finance, spanning a diverse range of sectors such as construction, telecommunications, infrastructure, energy and utilities, renewables, and technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT). Philip transitioned to his current role from the firm's Edinburgh office in July 2018.
He possesses distinctive skills in multi-creditor debt restructurings, insolvency, and both local and cross-border real estate finance. Philip is adept at advising funders, including those linked to the region's sovereign wealth funds and family offices, on acquisitions and investments within the region, as well as in Europe and the UK.
Philip is legally qualified to practice in Scotland and England & Wales, and holds the position of a Scottish notary public. His professional development includes a secondment in the Corporate Real Estate team at Lloyds Banking Group in 2016.
