Jonathan is an experienced debt capital markets and structured finance specialist. He advises on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including public bond offerings, private placements (including USPPs), green, social and sustainable bonds, liability management exercises, bond restructurings, convertible bonds and hybrid capital structures, public and private securitisations, securitised warehouse lending, structured note programmes, portfolio sales and acquisitions and forward funding arrangements

Jonathan’s sector expertise includes financial institutions, real estate, renewables, retail and automotive. In addition, he has extensive emerging markets experience, having acted for both issuers and bookrunners on multiple transactions across Africa, the Middle East, Russia and the CIS, and Latin America.

Jonathan is also a keen advocate for ESG and sustainability. He has a long-standing interest in this area, having read Environmental Biology at university long before it became a leading topic of the day in finance and business.

Jonathan's experience includes:

• Advising a leading UK retailer on the establishment of a new London Main Market-listed £3bn Reg S Euro Medum Term Note (EMTN) programme.*
• Advising the arrangers and joint lead managers on Doha Bank’s London ISM-listed U.S.$3bn EMTN programme and multiple Reg S drawdowns thereunder totalling U.S.$1.5bn.*
• Advising Blue Owl, a leading US asset management firm, on the establishment of a new TISE-listed €5bn Global Medium Term Note (GMTN) programme.*
• Advising the arrangers and joint lead managers on Ooredoo’s Dublin GEM-listed U.S.$5bn GMTN programme and Reg S/R144A drawdowns thereunder totalling U.S.$1.5bn.*
• Advising the global coordinators and initial purchasers on Drax Group’s €350m senior secured notes *
• Advising a leading UK insurance company on a tender offer for a portion of their T2 subordinated bonds and an issuer substitution *
• Advising a leading UK business process outsourcer as issuer on an agented multi-tranche US private placement *
